From skimming new plasterboard, over skimming existing plaster, floating using traditional sand and cement or a more modern hardwall backing coat. A modern technique of producing stud work, metal frame or MF as it is widely known can provide a great alternative to traditional wooden stud work partitions. Similarly suspended MF ceilings provide a quick and easy option for producing a perfectly level ceiling. Often used in large quantities in commercial units MF proves equally useful for a small partition projects.
THROUGH COLOURED RENDER
A more modern approach to external rendering, through coloured renders are available in numerous shades and colours. With a sleek modern finish and no need for painting, through coloured renders have quickly established themselves in the market. The current leading suppliers are Webber and K-rend. Although one of the newer styles our team have been working with through coloured renders for many years.
Our team are fully experienced in a number of traditional renders. This includes sand and cement render, pebble dash, rough cast and lime renders. If you are looking to match an existing finish or simply prefer a more traditional style you can be assured we will provide your desired finish.
TAPE & JOINTING
A by-product of an increasing use of dry lining methods has thrust tape and jointing to the forefront of finishing techniques. Known for its speed and quick drying times tape and jointing offers a fast alternative to traditional wet plaster techniques. Although more commonly used in large commercial spaces, tape and jointing has seen a rise in domestic projects in recent years.
Dry lining has established itself as the most common substitute for traditional wet plaster work. The background to which the plasterboard is fixed can be masonry, timber or metal, each requiring a different fixing method. Modern plasterboard can now provide a number of purposes such as fire rating, acoustic value, moisture resistance and thermal value.
A suspended ceiling is a secondary ceiling, hung below the main (structural) ceiling. It may also be referred to as a grid ceiling or a dropped ceiling. They are a staple of modern construction and architecture in both residential and commercial applications. We provide a number of styles to choose from. Our attractive ceilings can completely transform a project.
Screeding is a type of concrete used to form a level surface either to receive floor finishes, to encase under floor heating pipes or to be left as the wearing surface. It is laid either on top of the existing concrete base, a damp proof membrane or insulation with or without under floor heating pipes.
